Anecdote 5: A Delightful Bank Encounter!

Today, I had an amusing and heartwarming experience at the bank that truly highlights the beauty of cross-cultural interactions! 😄✨

I needed help with some forms and was assisted by a young, friendly Japanese bank staff. Here's our hilarious exchange:

🗣️ Me: (after inputting the birth date) "I'm old!"

👨‍💼 Japanese bank staff: (checking the birth date) "Ah yes!"

Cue laughter from both sides 😂

🗣️ Me: (still laughing) "You're not supposed to say that! You're supposed to say, 'Ah no, you're not that old.'"

👨‍💼 Japanese bank staff: (stepping back and bowing) "I'm so sorry; I'm still rude in English. I still have a lot to learn."

🗣️ Me: "Nah, everything's good! Don't worry. How did you learn to speak in English?"

👨‍💼 Japanese bank staff: "I learned on my own; I watched TV shows and movies. I guess the movies I'm watching are a bit rude." (laughing)
