Anecdote 4: Good Deeds

Updated: Feb 28

I've always marveled how majority of the people in Japan (at least the ones I've encountered) is honest. Amazing if you think about the number of people return things they've found to the police. I've misplaced a lot of things from an entire purse, iPhone to blazers. Ive been lucky to have found them where I lost them or at the nearest police station.

This time it was my turn to do #gooddeeds ... twice in a one day. 😆

First, lunch was at the food court of Tonarie. JCB and I were were enjoying our #gyoza set from Ringer Hut when we saw an open wallet on the bench nearby.

We didn't mind it thinking that someone used it to reserve the table. But when the wallet was still there until we finished our lunch, that's when we realized someone forgot it. So, as he cleaned our table, I brought the wallet to the shop information kiosk. Since I didn't want anything to with the wallet or owner , I didn't fill out the form (after a certain period when the item is not claimed, the one who turned it over has the right to claim it- I didn't want it).

After a few hours, we found ourselves in an electronics shop wandering near the massage chairs. Before we sat down, there was a backpack in between the chairs. Figuring someone who got a massage forgot it, I took the 15-minute massage first. When it was still there after the course, I then marched to the cashier and handed the bag over.

What are the odds, right? We hope those owners find their items soon. We're dripping with happy hormones when we got home. ☺️
